Début décembre, nous avons ouvert et nettoyé les nichoirs que nous avions installés il y a 3 ans dans la forêt des Blaches. Quelle surprise de découvrir différentes sortes de nids ! et quel plaisir d’essayer de déterminer quel oiseau a niché, en observant les matériaux utilisés et la forme des nids.
D’après nos analyses, il semblerait que des mésanges et des pinsons aient élu domicile dans ces nichoirs. Après un nettoyage minutieux à la brosse, nous avons remis les nichoirs en place et avons hâte d’observer les futurs occupants au prochain printemps !
Merci à Fabrice, parent d’élève, qui est venu en séance avec nous grimper à l’échelle pour décrocher et réinstaller les nichoirs. 😉

At the beginning of December, we opened and cleaned the nest boxes that we had installed 3 years ago in the Blaches forest. What a surprise to discover different kinds of nests! and what fun it is to try to determine which bird has nested, by observing the materials used and the shape of the nests. According to our analyses, it seems that tits and finches have taken up residence in these nest boxes.
After a careful cleaning with a brush, we put the nest boxes back in place and look forward to observing the future occupants next spring!
Thanks to Fabrice, parent of a student, who joined the session to climb the ladder to take down and then reinstall the nest boxes.
